Empowering the Next Generation in Hull

Congolese Youth Group is a community-led initiative dedicated to empowering young people across Hull through education, leadership development, cultural pride, and meaningful community engagement. We are passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where young people from all ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds feel valued, respected, and supported. Our vision is to see young people grow with confidence, develop strong character, and positively contribute to society while embracing both their cultural identity and their role within the wider community.

We understand that today’s young people face many challenges — from educational pressures and social influences to identity and belonging. That is why our mission is to unite and inspire youth in Hull by strengthening identity, promoting academic achievement, nurturing leadership skills, and building resilience. We aim to equip young people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to achieve their goals and shape a successful future.

Through our structured programmes and activities, we provide opportunities for young people to learn IT and digital skills, develop essential life skills, and gain practical knowledge that prepares them for further education and employment. Our mentoring sessions connect young people with positive role models who guide, encourage, and support their personal growth. We also offer educational workshops, cultural activities, and leadership development programmes that inspire young people to take initiative, serve their communities, and become confident decision-makers.

Creative Activities, Talent Development & Youth Engagement

We believe that every young person has unique gifts and talents that deserve to be discovered and celebrated. That is why we organise a wide range of creative and engaging activities designed to inspire self-expression, teamwork, and confidence. Our youth programmes include music, singing, dancing, talent showcases, drama, spoken word, cultural performances, and much more.

These activities provide a platform for young people to express themselves creatively, develop stage confidence, and build communication skills. We encourage young people to take pride in their cultural heritage while also embracing diversity and learning from one another. Through performances, showcases, and community events, young people have the opportunity to share their talents with families and the wider community.

Beyond creativity, we also organise sports activities, group discussions, leadership projects, community volunteering, and team-building exercises. Our goal is to create a balanced programme that supports emotional wellbeing, strengthens social connections, and encourages positive engagement within the community.
